we are in Taichung now! took a train over and the ride took about 2 and half hours. am very thankful motion-sickness didnt strike. there was so much to sightsee on board! i say any earnest geography student should make a decent trip to taiwan at least once. you literally see what you learn in the text coming alive. the high mountains and meanders and rivers and lakes; we even saw many farms along the way. and there were rows of cultivation too. land fragmentation - you could literally see the plots of land divided into many portions. each with its own type of crop.

will be here for about 2 days, then off to Kaohsiung we go. mom is resting in bed after the train ride and leen and pris glued to the google box. the tv and bed should really be thrown out of the room so we can go out for a walk.
