we went trekking at yang ming shan today. no one could wake up early this morning so we only headed to the mountains in the afternoon. by the time we got there it was almost time to get off cos the last buses were setting off alread haha.

bad news, i cannot load the pics we took! somehow hello cannot seem to run proper and i cant put the pics up. sigh. maybe when i get back home yah. there are many pretty pictures to share!

it was really breath taking a sight at the mountains. we headed to the volcanic zone at xiao you keng (there are different volcanic zones they name them all differently based on which tourist spot each is near to). the sulphur flowed alittle, there were also the little potholes where sulphur was boiling. you know how its like on the documentaries, where they feature people boiling eggs in those holes. yah, but only that no body is allowed to do that anymore. too many people have fallen into such boiling pits and got scalded.

so that's that. we then headed downhill to the yang ming park. the walk to the park alone took something like a 20 min bus ride, coupled with a half hour walk. we saw lavendar!! fresh rows of planted lavendar!! its the first time in my life i have seen these flowers, i must say lavendar is really sweet-smelling when its so fresh! lynna would have been jealous yah, haha. she LOVES lavendar fresh. oh but there were loads of these really plush and fat and hairy worms. you know that windows screensaver from long time ago, where they had these creepy crawlies sprawling all over the screen? yah those!! eeww.. eileen got one stuck to her sneaker haha we had a tough time getting it out.

by the time we got out of the mountains, it was alread 8pm. got back to the city and went to shi lin ye shi again but this time for steamboat. ive come to discover more interesting finds on this trip (read: more food haunts with the yummy yums! anyone who will visit taipei when i am there too, i will volunteer to be the food guide! haha). oh that steamboat, its a tiny pot and has a drink. for 89 yuan only, about 4.50 sing bucks.

and oh! i must talk about this!! its the graduation period in the unis here - the news featured this particular uni which has an annual "Watermelon Day". very interesting. see, this is the day sent aside for the guys to express their love for their female counterparts. there was this guy who has had a crush on this year one junior so he brought a melon to her hostel room and professed his feelings. there was another guy who has been eyeing this peer for a week. he brought a melon to her and sang to her in front of the crowd that had gathered. and you couldnt have been mindless about what melon to get, different melon conveys a varying message! wahaha, very interesting... not to mention sweet too:)

ps saw a pair of really adorable sneakers!!! i was so sure i would get them but the lady said they didnt have a pair my size anymore. sobs

someone ate pancake's heart, it says3:23 PM
