there was an earthquake last night. it was 6 on the ritcher scale, epicentre was in the coastal area in Yi Lan. the quake struck at 00:20h, 58km deep. but the extent the quake affected taipei was very much reduced, at 3 on the R scale. the buildings were swaying and so were we at home. what an experience. amused.
oh where was i. am in taipei alread. (apparently, since i mentioned the quake). some of my friends kindly offered to send me off but couldnt make it in the end. only yan came actually:) very thoughtful of her. she had to go off somewhere in the morning but still made the trip down:) really sweet of her. and she even prepared a birthday pressie in advance!
hmm, the plane ride was not fun at all. had to endure a back-breaking 4 and half hour flight with absolutely no eye candies in sight hahaa. and a rude stewardess. and a non-existent in flight entertainment programme. oh and there was a passenger who was prety sick and the captain made mutiple plea-calls if there was a doc or nurse on board. drama.

the food here IS good. my ambitious plans to return home on the 15th looking absolutely anything but plush got to be abandoned. there isnt a way i will succeed! gracey: my taupok website will be set up so soon! i took pictures of my fave yum today, went to 2 different smelly beancurd stalls:) shall load the pics tomorrow or something. my bones are breaking.
a big thank u to all who asked about my eye. its alot better now. less red, does not tear anymore, the blurred vision is still affecting me but its really better now. :) the folks with the best hearts: yan, jo.
and happy hatch day to jiabi and ms boon!!! sorry i cant quite call to say hi but lets catch up when i get back yah. hope the 2 of you had the best day celebrating. and a blessed year ahead!
to all my girlfriends: there are many many good lookers (read: mr hunky-s) in taipei. a word of consolation to the guys: dont worry, there are many babes too!
ps: eileen and i went to one of those dispensers where you drop a 50 yuan coin and twist the knob and you get a toy. me still being in the kitty craze after the 7-11 promo with the magnets, went to one of those. eileen and i couldnt believe our luck- we got 5 different designs in a series of 6! what a stroke of good luck! else we would have busted money getting repeats.
